You may have heard of Robert Burns, the great poet from Scotland. "The best laid plans of mice and men ..."  "to see ourselves as others see us ...." And so on. Well, his birthday is in January and it is a national holiday in Scotland. How could I let that go?

So, with the help of Barbara and Hamish Fordwood, and Diana Hershey, Robert Burns night at Unity will be January 23! With an authentic meal, music, tartan and kilt, and some very special entertainment!

The Unity Supper Club will lovingly prepare the following menu:

  • Smoked Salmon on Nairn's Oatcakes (crackers)
  • Cullen Skink (smoked haddock soup)
  • Balmoral Chicken (stuffed chicken breast with Scotch whiskey cream sauce)
  • Rumbledethumps (don't you love it!) mashed potatoes with cabbage
  • Cranachan (traditional dessert of raspberries and cream with toasted oats)
